Assured Principles’ database management helps non-profits and other organizations with their data storage and usage. Often volunteers or staff who input data can create inconsistencies, for example state abbreviations and record duplication. Inconsistent data leads to incorrect reporting and causes difficulties for management, when corresponding with funders, and during the grant writing process
This is a first and last step in working with and perfecting data.
This is when the level of need for scrubbing is determined
Scrubbing is necessary to create consistent data and in preparation for mapping and migration.
Mapping is the labeling of data which determines where data is placed in a new platform. This is part of a database migration and happens each time data is imported. This is also when the data field type is matched for a proper import.
Migration is the process of moving data from one platform to a new platform. After exporting data from the current platform, it is
scrubbed, mapped, and then the migration occurs when
importing to the new platform.
Viability is the determination of how the data is intended to be
used and collected.
This is a client based informational step.
Clients are who determine how they are going to use their data - our job is to help that data be clean, clear, and usable for staff, volunteers, grant writers and report generation.
